Pharmacologist, 1906-1987. Burch joined the faculty of the Washington University School of Medicine as a research associate in Pharmacology in 1953. She became a full professor in 1974 and retired as professor emeritus and lecturer in Pharmacology in 1975. Lowry received a degree in chemistry from Northwestern University in 1932 and in 1937 received both a doctorate in physiological chemistry and a medical degree from the University of Chicago.
